It's tax refund time!

February 15, 2019

federal tax forms, check and one hundred dollar bill

The good news… you could have a tax refund on the way. The bad news… there are cyber criminals out there who want to steal your money and/or your identity. We want to help you keep your money and identity safe and secure. Here’s some steps you can take to protect yourself from identity theft.

  • Keep your computer secure. Use strong passwords, security software, and back up your files regularly.
  • Avoid phishing and malware. Don’t open attachments unless you know who sent them. Use a pop-up blocker.
  • Protect personal information. Don’t share your social security number and shred all tax documents.
Remember – this is the time of year that cyber theft is most rampant. Please educate yourself and protect your personal and financial data online and at home!
